Once the transaction is successful, the sender gets a message from PrivPay notifying them that the money has been delivered to the recipient while another message from M-Pesa indicates that the user has implemented a payment to Siri Yangu Limited.

The recipient on the other hand receives two messages, one from PrivPay and another one from M-Pesa. None of the messages discloses the identity of the sender who is able to give a description of the payment.

A Business Daily spot check has revealed that transferring Sh100 through PrivPay will incur a total cost of Sh13, with Sh4 collected by M-Pesa and Sh9 charged by PrivPay. Although, the same transaction is free of charge on the M-Pesa ecosystem.

The additional fees are probable to restrict the adoption of the service to individuals who highly value their privacy.

Currently, the PrivPay application is available for free download on both Android and iOS platforms, and it exclusively caters to M-Pesa users. However, Siri Yangu has disclosed its intentions to enhance its services by integrating Airtel Money and T-Kash in the near future.

According to the developers, this feature will be particularly useful for charitable contributions and donations where privacy and anonymity are of utmost importance. The app provides a much-needed layer of security, ensuring that personal information is not revealed during transactions.

This development is poised to revolutionize the mobile payment industry, allowing users to conduct transactions with increased confidence and peace of mind.
