Airtel Money Announces Zero Transaction Fees for Electricity Bill Payments.

Airtel and Kenya Power have joined forces in an exciting partnership, ensuring that customers who use Airtel Money to pay their electricity bills will enjoy the benefit of zero transaction fees.

This collaboration aims to provide a seamless and cost-effective payment experience for customers, allowing them to conveniently settle their electricity bills without any additional charges. With this latest offering, Airtel subscribers can easily settle their electricity bills by following a few simple steps.

By dialing the USSD code *334#, customers can access the Airtel Paybill option, and subsequently select the KPLC (Kenya Power and Lighting Company) option to proceed with their bill payment. This user-friendly process ensures that Airtel customers can conveniently manage their electricity expenses through their mobile devices.

According to Anne-Kinuthia Otieno, the Managing Director of Airtel Money, this initiative by Airtel Money aims to provide support to Kenyans amidst challenging economic conditions. Over the next six months, both prepaid and postpaid customers of Kenya Power will be able to benefit from this program.

Additionally, she expressed her satisfaction in providing Kenyans with this remarkable solution, ensuring that they can now enjoy the benefit of zero transaction costs for the upcoming six months when making their electricity payments. This initiative allows customers to save on transaction charges, enabling them to allocate their funds towards other purchases, she further emphasized.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror, the Managing Director & CEO of Kenya Power, expressed his satisfaction with the inclusion of Airtel as one of their revenue collection agencies for both postpaid and prepaid customers. He emphasized the significance of this strategic partnership, highlighting the seamless payment channel it provides to their esteemed customers.

This partnership aims to elevate convenience and satisfaction levels, further enhancing the overall experience for Kenya Power’s valued clientele.

With this strategic partnership, Kenyans can now conveniently settle their electricity bills without incurring any additional charges. The aim is to revolutionize the way people in Kenya make electricity payments, providing them with a seamless and cost-effective solution through Airtel Money.

After six months of free transaction fees, customers will still be able to pay for their electricity bills at an affordable cost, in line with Airtel’s proposition of providing highly affordable services to its customers.

Registering for Airtel Money is absolutely free. You only need to visit your nearest Airtel Money agent or any Airtel shop countrywide, fill in a customer registration form and provide your original identification document, either a: Kenyan National ID, Up to date Passport, Millitary ID or Alien ID.

Once you are registered, you will receive an SMS confirming successful registration on Airtel Money. You will then dial *334# to set your preferred Airtel Money PIN and proceed to set a Security Question.
